A Radio Host Told Trump That People Are Gonna Treat His Death "Like Mardi Gras"

Last edited Thu Mar 26, 2026, 07:45 AM - Edit history (1)

https://www.buzzfeed.com/jazmintolliver/charlamagne-tha-god-slams-trump-celebrate-robert-mueller

Charlamagne Tha God torched President Donald Trump for cheering over the death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Just moments after reports of Mueller’s death surfaced, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Friday he was “glad” that Mueller, who oversaw the investigation into ties between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia, died.

His reasoning? Because he “can no longer hurt innocent people.”

Mueller’s family announced his death on March 13. He was 81 years old. The former FBI director was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021.

The president’s insensitive, celebratory remarks were widely condemned.

On Monday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God called out Trump for praising Mueller’s death while also condemning critics who celebrated the death of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Crowning Trump “donkey of the day,” the radio host directly told Trump he has “already ruined” his legacy, and will “go down as the worst president of all time” for not giving “a damn about democracy” and “wiping his ass with the Constitution.”

Decrying the president is “on pace to lead this country into the worst financial crisis of all time,” Charlamagne continued, “You are also putting yourself into a position that when you pass, people are going to treat it like Mardi Gras in New Orleans.”

“The celebrations folks are going to have, the things people are going to say about you when you pass, Mr. President– I don’t care about how many buildings you put your name on, bridges, tunnels, they can create holidays. None of that will matter because you have hurt way too many people,” he said.

I'll enjoy a nice Moscow Mueller cocktail (vodka, ginger beer, lime) in memory.

we do 3-4x's the work, get paid less, if we argue, or make a complaint, we're 'crazy', if we stop doing our jobs, the whole world stops...men don't see it.

I have been molested by men, raped by men, beat, tortured, taken, blamed, and left on the side of the road by men. There are only 2 men alive that I trust. my husband of 30 yrs. and my brother in law. Because of my distrust, there is nothing that is too low down and dirty that men would not do and it doesn't surprise me.

But...you're right, a lying, multi-felon, rapist, seditionist, child molester, will always win over a smart, successful woman. Because, the men (white, christian) only think of themselves. And their self gratifications.

I see all these former gop, pigs, running for office, the first thing I ask them is "What are you going to do to help women, minorities, and the poor? Do you think that women have the right to own their own bodies and make the decisions concerning their bodies? Do you want our brothers and sisters, fellow countrymen/ women of different races, creeds or religion, to have a say in THEIR own life? They never answer, and I will not vote for them.

Yes, there are bigger disasters on our plate, but if you don't fight the racism, the misogyny and other 'isms' we cannot heal anything else. The very foundation of all of what donOLD and his cohorts are doing has stemmed from racism and misogyny.

Sorry for going semi-off topic...I guess I needed to vent more than I realized! Thank you Skittles!

very sorry what has happened to you (and our country),,,,,,,but we can only be reminded there are plenty of decent men; heck we hear from them daily right here on DU.

I too am sick of the double standard, that women have to be twice as good as men to be considered half as good. And someone who is both female and POC has to be, like, TEN TIMES as good.

of course there are good men, very good men!

I won't turn my back to them, though. Sorry.

I DO apologize to the men whom I have made uncomfortable. The truth is I am awkward, both on social media and in real life. I'm also a fool. I mean no offense, and still trying to 'get over it'.

My whole life, I have loved and respected women of color. Because, they are the ones who paid attention to me. Mostly Shoshone/Paiute. I used to pretend I was Wonder Woman, when young, but in my imagination, I was black.

not so afraid with everybody else, but white men...sorry..I think I'm prejudiced against them..? Years of therapy and I still, try to sneak away from them...to be invisible to them...

I know, TMI. But it's the truth.

And we might toast with a little champagne.

Neither of us drinks anything other than coffee and tea, mainly. Fresh orange juice, and a diet soda here and there, and that’s pretty much it. A glass of champagne is strictly for something monumental. But the passing of the donald might just measure up.

Obliterate his name.
Use a substitute when referring him in history books or in conversation.

The holiday of Purim embodies something like that with the name of "H*man*. Celebrants use noisemakers and groggers to drown out the sound of his name - for that his the ultimate punishment... to be as if he never existed.

The word "trump" should be the ultimate profanity.

Thu Mar 26, 2026, 05:01 PM

It’s a human thing to do, and Orange Julius has managed to infuriate as well as alienate huge swaths of America as well as countless millions abroad..

When the self-righteous finger-waggers clutch their pearls and publicly reproach us for how we marked what’s-his-name’s passing, we can point to the celebrations following the deaths of Mussolini and Rafael Trujillo. Crowds didn’t hold solemn, silent candlelight vigils for those guys either: they were joyful.

I don’t think that the finger-wagers appreciate Orange Julius’ accomplishment: it takes a certain level of loathsome to inspire celebrations at your death.
