French Senator: "A handful of drug addicts and alcoholics have seized power in America".

Wow! Mincing no words...

Full translation. We are the laughingstock of the international community:

A year ago, right here, I was comparing Trump’s presidency to the court of Nero. I was wrong, it’s the Court of Miracles.

An anti-vaxxer, a former heroin addict, is Minister of Health.
A climate change skeptic is Minister of Ecology.
An alcoholic TV host is Minister of the Armed Forces.
A former agent of Qatar is Minister of Justice.
A Putin groupie is Minister of National Security.

A Turkish proverb says: “When a clown moves into a palace, he does not become king, the palace becomes a circus.”

This fine team has decided to create a competitor to the UN. Since its Peace Council has existed, Trump has launched more military strikes than Biden did during his entire term.

Every time the Epstein affair resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world and create a diversion.

Bomb more to gain more.

There isn’t a single country where Trump hasn’t taken advantage of the situation to enrich himself, never forgetting his family. A personal Boeing offered by Qatar, investments in projects across the Gulf and elsewhere, manipulation of stock prices benefiting a select few insiders.

Any one of these conflicts of interest would have triggered immediate impeachment proceedings here.

But we are not here, we are in MAGA America, where public affairs are conducted in the service of private interests.

The Trump administration is comical, obscene, repulsive...and threatening. The idea that "it can't happen here" has been thoroughly discredited for any advanced democracy. Europeans need to take a ruthless approach to countering their own "populist," oligarchic, fascist movements. They can learn from America's object lesson. They need to treat MAGA America as a potential enemy.

My guess Don Jr., Eric. Kush-Turd, and some Saudis.

than this bunch of wrecking balls and ignorant shitbags. Yes, that includes meth addicts.

This is far worse, it's government by social media algorithm, something that favors the most outrageous lunatics and which this bunch of dimwitted and uncreative power drunk assholes take for majority opinion.

This is why social media have got to be regulated as public utilities, to get rid of the algorithms that favor clickbait.

Not only will outrage junkies have to start thinking straighter, it will be fun to see Zuckerberg et al. shriek and squirm.

Claude Malhuret is no lightweight! See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Malhuret

From the link:

"Claude Malhuret: (born 8 March 1950) is a French physician, lawyer and politician who has served as a member of the Senate since 2014, representing the department of Allier. A member of Horizons (HOR),[1] he has presided over the centre-right The Independents – Republic and Territories (LIRT) parliamentary group in the Senate since 2017.

Previously, Malhuret was Secretary of State for Human Rights (1986–1988),[2] Mayor of Vichy (1989–2017),[3] a member of the National Assembly (1993–1997) and of the European Parliament (1989–1993)...."

If we only had Semators even half as qualified as he is, our nation would be in MUCH better shape.

DU has an addiction/recovery forum. Should we mock a person's effort to get sober? Relapses are not uncommon in the beginning of recovery. For anyone on this board struggling to stay clean and sober, it this REALLY the message you want to promote?
