He was in a German forced labor camp till the end of the war in the European theater, then went to a DP camp in Germany till he came over to the US. I and my two closest in age siblings were born before he got his US citizenship. I remember mail sent to him from the government addressed to “Alien”.

All of the current events are bringing up cellular memory for me and I’m not having an easy time of it.

I'm glad to see he is TACO'ing, and I expected that would be the case, but it still feels like we are on a precipice. Anything could happen anytime.

The only consolation is that this one last statement about ending their civilization, has really shaken the world, and there is the littlest chance that a groundswell will get him out of office.
