Not Budapest, though. It's Debrecen, second largest city and Orbán's strongest bastion since 1998. The crowd is even more significant with this in mind.

I'm so nervous. It's my native country...

(7,428 posts)I didn't think Orban would concede no matter what the numbers were......try to pull some illegal shit at the last minute.
But every single freedom and democracy loving American is overjoyed at this result. I've had it up to my eyeballs with the fascist assholes like Putin, Trump, and Orban.
Next comes the USA. Veto proof majorities in both houses. Impeach and remove the demented scum. Justice!

(4,300 posts)Almost more than the supermajority, I am gob-smacked he conceded so fast!! Guess his ego just couldn't take such a resounding defeat and his usual bluster and trickery deserted him.
One down, two to go. Or three. Or four.
We needed this, and by that I mean not just Hungarians or Americans, but the whole world!!

I think the only way Orban will win is if he rigs it.

(4,300 posts)Changed the constitution even to allow the rigging. The country is gerrymandered to the nth degree too. Plus all kinds of dirty tricks.
I'm afraid the opposition will have to get at least 60% to have any chance of winning. It's touch and go as I see it. Magyar is right to tell people to go and VOTE. Especially the youth, where Orbán is favoured by only 14% now!! The youth turn-out holds the key.

(4,300 posts)He has his people at the booths. I don't trust the counters or the systems. It will take nearly a miracle to get rid of him. Waiting for that miracle tomorrow!

(6,134 posts)I really don't want to see him try to hold onto power by force or to cook the election books to steal it.

(12,258 posts)Find out what trump will do when the Senate and House goes blue. If Orban refuses to give up power, that will be what trump will do. They won't seat the new House members, the Senate is a different animal. I can't see Thune not seating new members. But Johnson definitely will play games. That's why I'm hoping there will be a turn over before the election.Just a few more repubs taking retirement and not waiting would be perfect.

If he does, you can bet Trump will be studying it.

(55,256 posts)Sometimes I go to a free site called Daily Motion and I can see a ton of Tony's videos for free and they aren't allowed on YouTube since they charge money. Daily Motion has about 90% of his No Reservations programs for free, you just need to go to their link which is easy. I'm a tech moron but I figured this out a few years ago and it still works great!
