.... gets sucked up by these privatized data collection companies Then government agencies approach them for personal information they want access to. They then don't need warrants, judges, or courts to access any info they want to get their hands on.

The privatized data brokers are happy to sell it to them at a hefty price. Then the government agency says we did not violate anyone's privacy rights we purchased the info on the open market.

Your privacy right take a kick in the teeth and the data collection surveillance & security industrial complex makes a financial killing spying on you because it is so damn lucrative and profitable for them.

A favorite meme of conservo-systers. On paper they are, but nearly zero US corporations actually pay anywhere near the posted rate. The tax laws are so full of carve outs and loopholes, they make out like bandits.

Primary Drivers of the $0 Tax Bill

R&D Expensing (The "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act): The most significant factor in 2025 was a new tax provision (often referred to as the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act) which allowed companies to immediately and retroactively deduct 100% of their research and development (R&D) expenses. Palantir reportedly reduced its tax liability by over $400 million using this single provision.

Stock-Based Compensation (SBC): As is common with high-growth tech firms, Palantir uses significant stock-based compensation. When employees exercise options or shares vest, the company can often claim a tax deduction for the difference between the market price and the strike price, which significantly offsets taxable income.

Net Operating Loss (NOL) Carryforwards: Because Palantir operated at a loss for many years prior to reaching consistent GAAP profitability, it entered 2025 with substantial "tax assets." These allow the company to use past losses to "shield" current profits from federal taxation.

The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA): Ongoing provisions from the 2017 tax reform, including the 21% corporate rate and various accelerated depreciation schedules for capital investments, continued to play a role in lowering the overall tax burden.
