(10,644 posts)For a relative unknown to win the 2020 Iowa caucus, beating Sanders and Warren, it shows he has something voters like.

One term all the heavies come in and clean up the trDUMP messes.
Then in 2032 - Buttigieg/Talarico for two terms.
Then in 2040 - ===========================

(1,550 posts)Good for Pete. I really like him, he speaks clearly and doesnt try to hedge on issues. I think voters appreciate that.

(2,097 posts)He appeals to a very wide base, left, right, center. I honestly do not believe Petes being gay is going to matter. It will to some, sure, but those who feel that way are also those who wouldnt vote for a Democrat anyway. Or those who probably arent prone to vote. He gets people excited and hopeful, much like Obama did.

(1,550 posts)As a gay man, Im hopeful but remain hesitant. In my own personal experiences, many in the Democratic leaning voting coalition would not be open to supporting a gay man. I suppose you wont know if you dont try. 🤷♂️
