Good for Pete. I really like him, he speaks clearly and doesn’t try to hedge on issues. I think voters appreciate that.

He appeals to a very wide base, left, right, center. I honestly do not believe Pete’s being gay is going to matter. It will to some, sure, but those who feel that way are also those who wouldn’t vote for a Democrat anyway. Or those who probably aren’t prone to vote. He gets people excited and hopeful, much like Obama did.

As a gay man, I’m hopeful but remain hesitant. In my own personal experiences, many in the Democratic leaning voting coalition would not be open to supporting a gay man. I suppose you won’t know if you don’t try. 🤷‍♂️
