brilynhollyhand:
from where i'm standing, a 12 year old girl can travel 2 hours, claim they're going to school, and instead get an abortion where a baby is viciously murdered.
this is what the left wants. we can't be quiet.
we need to boldly speak out against abortion.

sorry, i didn't really listen past the part where you glossed over someone raping a 12-year-old.

encourages nor justifies "raping 12-year-olds) and yes, that is EXACTLY what you are implying. Disgusting.

I don't agree with the Catholic Church on many things, and I certainly hold in great disdain the cover-up of pedophile Priests over the years, but to say or even imply that is their OFFICIAL doctrine is not only wrong, but the most malignant form of religious bigotry I have seen posted here.

... is the problem.

And that isn't the only problem

brilynhollyhand's comment demonstrates a tunnel vision focus on the fact a 12 year-old could have a way to terminate a pregnancy, in violation of his PERSONAL religious belief -- a belief that is not shared by countless of his fellow Americans.

brilynhollyhand's comment demonstrates their Un-American determination to pass laws that would impose their PERSONAL religious belief on Americans who do not share that belief -- a deeply Un-American, and frankly Un-Christian impulse.

Faith is about living your beliefs with the faith that doing so can make this a better world for all, whatever their faith may be. It is NOT about CONTROL. It is not about forcing those who do not share your beliefs to live in accord with them or suffer the punishment of jail, or worse, the loss of their life in a procedure performed outside the healthcare system.

Control is the OPPOSITE of faith.

Furthermore, brilynhollyhand's absence of concern that a 12 year-old in this country could be so desperate and lacking in support that she feels she must travel on her own to terminate the pregnancy demonstrates a failure of compassion that I think any person with a conscience, whatever their religious beliefs, or lack thereof, should find disturbing.

Actually, maybe it needed to be. I disagree vehemently on the issue of abortion with religion and the "religious" in general, but that was not the subject of our interaction.

He saw nothing wrong with FORCING a 12-year-old girl to have a baby she is in NO WAY prepared/able to cope with. That is UNMITIGATED bullshit.

This...idgit (he is definetly not a man of god!)...is saying a twelve old girl can drive herself somewhere to get an abortion? Last i knew, in most states you have to be at least sixteen to get a drivers license! Never mind the fact that if she's twelve and pregnant she was most likely raped by an older male that she knew.

Is this dude confessing that he impregnated a child?
