Joy Behar points out the real culprit of the mess we're in...the Republican party.

I've always blamed Trump. But she makes a good point. If the Republicans weren't so scared of Trump, they would stop him.

there are more that like his agenda than are afraid of him. Anything for more power. The United States citizens in the lower and middle class are the ones who suffer and republicans do not care.

get out of the situation, for example, not rolling back voting rights. Or not redistricting. That would be the easiest way to resolve things. But clearly they're not doing that.

They are not hostages, they are fully complicit in what's happening. They want to remain in power and they will not lift a finger to hold tRump accountable.

There is more than enough blame to go around the entire damn country.

And we live in a democracy so the buck stops with WE THE PEOPLE.

On August 7, 1974, a delegation of top Republican congressional leaders met with President Richard Nixon in the Oval Office to inform him that his support in Congress had evaporated and he would likely be impeached and convicted.

TODAY? crickets.

EVERY Republican serving in Congress is A-okay with all of this. Every GOP Governor… State Senator…!Dog Catcher. A-Okay.

They could end this today. There are several impeachment articles currently sitting on Mike Johnson’s desk! The GOP are the agents of Chaos. They sanction ALL OF THIS.

but at least partially wrong in her explanation though. I really am kind of tired of this "if republicans would just stand up to Trump" talk. They have far more responsibility in this then simply not standing up to Trump. They were the catalyst for Trump to begin with. They spent decades cultivating this stuff and even what use to be considered moderates in the republican party had a hand in it too, because they never thoroughly condemned it, because they were happy to take advantage of it when it suited their purposes. They would just dismiss vile talk come from right wing radio and other extreme right wing sources as just some crazy's we shouldn't be concerned with. In today's republican most of them believe all the disgusting stuff Trump does, but just aren't willing to say it out loud. The republican party must some how some way not only be defeated, but wiped out at the ballot box.

They are afraid of the propaganda and money spigot getting turned off by The Heritage Foundation, The Federalist Society and the billionaire doners. Trump is a sock puppet with a loud mouth. They let him do his bullshit stuff while behind all the crap he does they hold their politicians with cash handcuffs. The ones behind the curtain are the one we all should be afraid of. They will do anything to keep their wealth and power.

Which, of course, by any other name is a dictatorship. I honestly feel that the current cabal of Rethugs really saw Trump as their pathway to that. Their mistake was thinking they could control him once they got him there.

As JFK said at his inauguration, "...But we shall always hope to find them strongly supporting their own freedom. . .and to remember that. . .in the past. . .those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside."

And yes, they're fucking cowards.

following the project '25 playbook. It is the Republican party and Trump supporters who are the problem. Without them, there would be no Trump or implementation of project '25..
