There is no longer a reason to hold onto a belief

of what the likes of Alito, Roberts etc. and other justices on the US Supreme Court are as people. Regardless of what one can say about their educational and professional achievements they are at heart horrendous human beings. These are people who would have no problem with swinging the clubs that beat John Lewis on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. These despicable creatures show us in 2026 what the "judges and juries" in the South of the Jim Crow era and beyond were like.

Their aim is use their authority to strip rights from people and to protect the white rule while claiming it is not about race. They are liars in robes who have lied their way onto the highest court. My suggestion is that the time is now for elected Democrats to drop all politeness when speaking of these justices. Say the words publicly of what they really are and hold nothing back because there is no longer "another time" for it. The time is now. Call them racists at every opportunity. Speak on the floor of the House and in the Senate and call them what they are. Do not shrink from this because this has gotten worse and worse year after year and elected officials being silent or "respectfully" disagreeing accomplishes nothing except the sure destiny of the racists continuing their rape of the rights of people and wiping their ass with the Constitution and this democracy.

My suggestion for example would be for any elected official with some guts is to take the opportunity of the next State of The Union speech where the justices are seated together and walk over to them and hand these racists each a white hood symbolic of their true selves and what they have done and have worked to do for decades. Would it cause an uproar and incident? Damned right it would and it would be a breath of fresh air to see someone actually throw it in their faces live on TV rather than let them sit smugly while people simply lament and criticize their decisions on a scholarly basis.

Oh yes I know it won't happen and so on we go to the next outrage and the next. Dead protesters, women denied reproductive rights, minorities denied voting rights and equal representation, US citizens grabbed, threatened with deportation and held for months in "custody" and we have to ask at what point do they come after the right to assemble? They already show they take a restricted view of the 4th Amendment along with their attitude towards allowing religious fanatics to insist on having their views inflicted on children in schools and to ban books from libraries. These justices have codified allowing job discrimination, environmental degradation and weakening of already lax worker safety protections.

Along the way they give one or two rulings that seem OK but is it really anything other than giving themselves "cover" and to blunt some of the opposition to them while they plot to do more and increasing damage to the rights of people, our elections and our democracy? I don't want to hear talking heads telling me in scholarly tones that John Roberts has had a desire and has worked for decades to gut the Voting Rights Act. That might do for a college seminar. Many people will hear that on their TV and go "Yeah that's true" and then move along. Screw that. Call John Roberts and Alito virulent racists and if the program hosts and producers don't like it fuck them. The time is long past to call these people what they are and I don't give a damn who doesn't like it or who gets hurt feelings or who thinks it's "divisive".

Damned right I want to be divided from these evil racists and fascists. I am not interested in "getting along with" or "understanding their views and concerns". All of that kind of talk is simply propaganda from the racist/fascist camp being thrown back at us to play on the meme that we should "ease up" and that the political climate in the country is "our fault" too. Bullshit.

Court expansion must the #1 priority, for without it, lost rights cannot be restored, nor can the damage of the Trump era be repaired.

Try it. The conservative media will have a field day with lies and the public is easily swayed by fear. They are going to come for our guns, our children will become gay or trans, them minorities will get the upper hand. I don’t think that’s a hill you want what’s left of our democracy to die on. Oh yeah moderates who don’t like major change will vote against it.

The vast majority of 'Muricans have no clue about the role of the SC in engineering the regression of the U.S. Talking about the SC will fall like babble on their ears.

What do you think can be accomplished without first neutralizing the MAGA majority on the court?

Any significant legislation that makes it past the filibuster will be overturned by the extremist court.

Want to codify Roe? Must expand the court first.

Want a new Voting Rights Act? Must expand the court first.

Want to overturn Citizens United? Must expand the court first.

Want to revoke presidential immunity? Must expand the court first.

Want to put a permanent end to insane gerrymandering? Must expand the court first.

Pick your top legislative priority- it can’t pass without killing the filibuster, and can’t stay the law of the land without expanding the court.

Without court expansion, the best Dems can hope for is a hollow, mathematical majority (for one cycle, maybe two at best), that is obstructed from getting anything done, despite the best of intentions, further alienating voters from the party.

After the 2030 census, if the court isn’t expanded, it’s permanent minority status for Dems in the house for sure, and maybe the White House (electoral votes will be reapportioned after the next census, unless Congress acts to increase the number of seats in the house).

With so many Americans experiencing Trump-induced, Republican-enabled suffering that cuts across regional, racial and partisan boundaries, the time is ripe to educate folks about how this all happened.

But you must get the American people to buy in. They are so propagandized they constantly vote against what’s best for them. Healthcare, living wage, childcare subsidies, minding their business, sensible gun laws and they elected a con man twice he will surpass his other bankruptcies, he will bankrupt the nation. The powerful will never give up their power willingly and when you have an idiot army they don’t even have to try. The easily manipulated will die for them.

Congress sets the number on the SC. There is no rule or law I'm aware of that restricts it to 9.
The court has been expanded multiple times in the past.
It makes sense to expand to 13 to match the number of district courts in the US.
Add 4 more liberal justices, outnumber the fascists and racists, and a whole host of ridiculous decisions can be overturned.

Perhaps THEN we can actually "make America great".
Unfortunately, I probably won't be around to see it.

but NOT before 2029 when I hope we will have another Democratic president and senate
to appoint their replacements---

and YEAH--- "EXPAND THE COURT" is that is necessary
to "level the playing field" since this far-right 6-3 right-wing SC majority
was STOLEN in the first place!!!!!

(Of course, if we flip the US Senate in 2026,
which appears we have a good chance of doing---
the Democratically-controlled US Senate should GODDAMN Well just REFUSE
to advance any new Supreme Court nominees from Donald Trump
"until after the presidential elections"---
as McConnell and the Republicans refused to do when
they controlled the Senate and refused to bring President Obama's last nominee
up for a vote....
