What is the Supreme Court Actually Trying to Do? Takes by Jamelle Bouie

May 2, 2026
Here is a (believe or not) short version of my theory on what the Supreme Court is trying to do to the American political and legal order beyond just helping its friends in the Republican Party.

I recommended three books in this video. They are:

"Until Justice Be Done: America's First Civil Rights Movement" by Kate Masur

"Birthright Citizens: A History of Race and Rights in Antebellum America" by Martha Jones

"Migration and the Origins of American Citizenship: African Americans, Native Americans, and Immigrants" by Anna Law

Helped by people who don't belong to the Plantation Owner Elite and never understood how F'ing privileged they had it due to the New Deal and Civil Rights movement - and who look down at anyone who just can't "make it" either through mental, emotional, or physical reasons as "not trying hard enough" and being undeserving of assistance or even survival.
