Saw a great documentary tonight from PBS

Exposing the Myth of Southern Charm

Being in Mobile, a lot of it rang familiar. The Lost Cause still lives and breathes here.

The documentary is especially salient in light of the last couple of weeks of news.

I’ll look it up. I was thinking about when I was a kid in the 1960s South and how racists made life difficult for everyone in their crusade to oppress “others”. And by “others” I mean non-MAGA, non-violent, unconvinced, ordinary Americans and immigrants.

I gotta say, in my seventh decade, Nazis are always just one generation—15 to 20 years—away from taking power. If society lets them. Don’t let them, we must always be on guard.

Like weeds, roaches, and infectious diseases they will multiply and take over if left uncontrolled.
