She makes good points IMHO

Ukraine is not asking NATO for a seat as a passenger. It is bringing the battlefield experience NATO now needs.

Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said Ukraine should be integrated into NATO as quickly as possible because it is in Europe’s own interest. Her point was clear: Ukraine has one of Europe’s most credible armies, a strong defense industry, and modern technologies tested in the hardest war on the continent.

In the language Washington understands: Ukraine has cards. Real ones.

Because any new member must have unanimous approval from every other member.

In the meantime, they can proceed with forming Carney’s proposed European Defense Alliance.

That would essentially dissolve NATO.

I’m not sure anybody wants that, especially since the current rogueness will only last another three years (even if the damage lasts longer).

And the EU has found workarounds, such as loaning Ukraine billions, now that Orban is gone.

An internal enemy is far worse than an external one.

trump has tried to weaken NATO and other alliances in order to favor putin. He can't be relied on for anything at all.

Given his destruction of the US military leadership I don't see anyone stopping him from continuing his treasonous behavior.

I doubt NATO wants trump to be privy to its planning for the future. He's like an ugly 320 pound skin tag.

That doesn’t mean NATO wants the US out of Europe.

Fortunately, the current crop of European leaders aren’t (mostly) knee jerk reactionaries who want to punish themselves for the antics of one rogue leader.

Because it’s the Right Thing To Do.
NATO PUSHED Ukraine to surrender their Nukes. For this reason alone they should waive the shit out of the rules. This is house-afire Emergency and they are paying for our Stupidity in Lives and Treasury.
And, now they are suffering for it! Deplorable.
This is on us (NATO) and His Arrogance is playing Transactional Mumblypeg with them to rip-off their Resources.

that would strengthen both by Ukraine's entry. At this point, I'm not looking at if it happens, but when it will be eventually acted on. Serious times call for serious nations... NATO can dismiss America as a serious player for the time being if recent events show our measure.

They are at Russia's doorstep therefore the first defense. Once the Russia incursion has been eliminated. They are a better friend to Europe than the U.S. at this point in time. They are battlefield tested and have proven to be a force not to be taken lightly. 1 Ukrainian fight is more worthy of praise than the Felon and his whole Administration.

That's not even taking into consideration the commitment that was made to Ukraine to defend them when they gave up the nukes.
