(9,274 posts)We are NOT all alike. Maybe from different genetic stock, or maybe evolution is still going on but not everyone comes from stock that is a bit further along?
Some have larger corpus callosum and some have larger amygdala. The former allows for good communication between left and right hemispheres, which means more efficient processing of information, wider available brain resources to use information. A very helpful development in the human brain. The later? Well, it's good for processing threats and triggering immediate fear and/or anger responses and probably served well when we were running from big bears into whose caves we may have stumbled.
Not as many bears now, but more other types of threats, which are better met by using that left/right brain information highway and processing information to find solutions, not just autopilot type reactions.

We are not alike. Some differences are cultural conditioning but it seems some differences really are all in our heads.

(251 posts)honor truth, empathy and did I mention truth? How do you convince the selfish, unfeeling and lie enablers that their agendas do not advance the wellbeing of humanity. Do they really think those longings that progressives or humanists work toward matter?
Im beginning to believe the twisted wiring referenced is humanitys sorrow. We may challenge their detachment from aspiring to wellbeing for all, but fixed within this soulless population is a disease that ravages the weak and helpless.

(4,620 posts)They couldnt care less about any humanity that is not them, so no, they dont care about advancing the well being of humanity. This is why it is so easy for the to dismiss Progressives as radical. To their selfish mindset, compassion for others is completely radical.
