A SECOND vote.gov and privacy-violating trackers on federal sites

The article alleges that the Trump administration is using a newly created federal office to bypass traditional oversight, consolidate sensitive citizen data (such as voter registration, passports, and federal logins), and transition these services from independent federal agencies directly onto White House-controlled infrastructure.

Joe Gebbia (co-founder of Airbnb and Tesla board member) holds the new title of Chief Design Officer of the United States. He reports directly to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. National Design Studio (NDS) operates similarly to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It utilizes a specific federal hiring authority (Section 3161) meant for temporary bodies. This allows staff to work as part-time advisors or volunteers, meaning they do not appear on standard White House salary reports, file public financial disclosures, require Senate confirmation, or answer to an inspector general.

TrumpRx.gov (a drug pricing site), RealFood.gov, and TrumpAccounts.gov are alleged to use embedded Silicon Valley analytics tools (PostHog) capturing keystrokes, mouse movements, and IP addresses using techniques designed to bypass ad-blockers.

On the studio's own site (ndstudio.gov), the author found a custom script called "AutoMonitor" designed to copy and forward all page traffic to a private backend server.

Across 12 NDS programs, the studio has failed to file legally required Privacy Impact Assessments or System of Records Notices (SORNs), which were established post-Watergate to prevent secret government surveillance.
