(14,571 posts)Most were close calls, but two direct hits: Celia 1970 and Harvey 2017. The landfall forecasting accuracy has helped as it has dramatically improved. That has reduced those unnecessary evacuations.
Trumps cuts to the weather service may affect that, but well still have the European Model.
