Iran and the US can't negotiate an end to Israel's wars without Israel being at the table too. And Iran has always demanded that Israel stop their attacks on Lebanon as part of this deal. I think Trump thinks this is a real estate deal and he can just humor Iran on Israel and hammer out the rest of the details until leaving the one to the intend which they can just punt to a later date.
