(53,847 posts)Most of their morning programming is like a totally different planet. Though that evening show The Weeknight is just as bad and now Luke Russert is coming back to MS NOW as a regular on The Weeknight. I'm trying to figure out who watches it.

(114,988 posts)I was up late enough to see it. I don't dislike her, but it will be interesting to see if that frenetic energy follows her to the mornings--not necessarily a bad thing then, I'd guess.

(2,230 posts)I'll give it a try, but I'll probably go to NPR or some other credible news source during that time.

(74,148 posts)i always loved those segments when she had a morning show. i dont have cable anymore, and infrequently catch her segments on yt. but she always brings receipts.

(53,847 posts)I don't dislike her either, but that is too much energy and hype for 11 pm. I really miss Brian Williams in that time slot. He was so mellow and professional.
Plus he had a quirky understated sense of humor. My favorite was "Senator-No Relation-Kennedy" whenever there was a story involving the senator from Louisiana. Or "translated for you from the original Russian". He slipped these in so smoothly and effortlessly, that sometime I had to rewind to see if I'd heard it right.

(56,179 posts)Morning Joe is 25 years in the rear view mirror and should be retired.

(390 posts)is a mixed bag. Many of Joe's rants against Trump are useful and viral, despite the backdoor relationship. Mika is good when she's by herself.
Velshi is a treasure at any hour. Ruhle's energy and exasperation are a bright spot at MS.

(10,001 posts)I can totally do without either Joe Scarborough or Stephanie Ruhle. There are already too many republicans in media...moderate or not.
PatSeg
(53,847 posts)he goes on and on forever, sucking all the energy out of the room. He talks over people and treats Mika like crap. I'm glad he finally saw the light, but I still can't listen to him no matter what political bias he is espousing.
Right or left, a self-absorbed bully is still a self-absorbed bully.

(4,290 posts)Followed her 11:00 pm show for less than a month. She interrupts guests; her questions are not questions they are her opinions followed by a question mark. Will not watch her morning performance.
MSNOW now has a great nighttime lineup:
9:00 pm: Rachel Monday, Jen Psaki Tue-Fri
10:00: Lawrence
11:00: Velshi replacing Ruhle - HUGE improvement

(494 posts)She gives off way too much of a sexual, flirtatious vibe to me. I wouldnt mind that in another setting, but it feels unprofessional to me on a news program.

(3,127 posts)At least an hour of those 4 hours was a complete repeat of the first hour anyway. I have no doubt they won't be constrained by the reduced time (other than in their wallets).

(298,927 posts)but not a word was mentioned about the dropped hour.
While I agree that there is a lot of repetition on MJC, I think the dropped hour is a big story.

(27,845 posts)It was too late for me to stay up and watch. Although I do like Ali Velshi, not sure I'll be taping him. Now if they would just put him on in the 2 hour slot before Stephanie that would work for me.
