If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, please watch the first 20 minutes, which is a thorough explanation of the fact this administration is totally fascist and authoritarian, and how its most effective and zealous point-person is outside of public view. Russell Vought has ruined and disempowered the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and his main job as head of OMB is to break as much of the federal government as he can, and to dominate and dictate to whatever they allow to survive.
Without hyperbole, Russell Vought is the most dangerous person in this country.

SAMPLE comment - if you want a starting place:
US federal research funding makes scientific and medical breakthroughs possible and improves the lives of all Americans. This rule will hinder innovation and stifle growth, pushing us ever further behind other countries in scientific advancements. It's another attack on scientific integrity and scientific independence that will come at the public's expense.
Research funding should be awarded based on merit (not political loyalty); that funding shouldn't be contingent on the whims of a President and his "priorities" at the expense of innovation and the public good; and that funding shouldnt be withheld from individual researchers, organizations, and institutions because their work is associated with one of the administrations "prohibited topics."

(1,568 posts)...but the link I have in my previous post is to comment on these proposed rules during the public comment period. It's imperative to get as much public comment as possible in opposition to these rules. Most of these rules are contrary to the First Amendment, and your comment can simply say that. The videos on this are informative, and you can be more specific in your objections if you're up to speed on the other issues.
