I donât know man, who is âthe Democratic Partyâ if itâs not the voters?Democratic voters choose candidates, not party leaders. And party leaders need to listen to what voters are telling us - and right now they are demanding our party be bolder.

(5,177 posts)Chris Murphy is right. It's a no brainer. The leaders' inability to read the room is puzzling. Happens in this forum as well.

I think this is our new message to the leadership from the party.

Iâve worked with Democrats across the ideological spectrum. We didnât always agree, but we understood that building a stronger Democratic Party was part of the job.
If you hate the party, spend your days attacking it, and have contempt for the people who make it possible, then see above.

Jaime was not singling out a Democratic candidate or the voters. He was probably referring the the very white male centric subset on BlueSky who post more about destroying and harming the Democratic Party than they do in growing or building the Democratic Party.
Building a stronger Democratic Party and Democratic Party coalition is the goal.

(30,304 posts)insulting would-be party members because they don't stand up to the Democratic leadership's purity tests? We shouldn't be afraid of harsh critiques. In fact, we should be inviting them to include as many voices as we can. I always learned that problems cannot be solved with the thinking that created them, that listening is an active skill, and that all voices need to be heard in a Democracy.

(3,223 posts)If you read threads on Bluesky you will see a very divisive subset of white male centric voices who proclaim to be left leaning that harass and attack large portions of the Democratic base. You will see how they talk about Jasmine Crockett or Black women voters in Texas. You will see how they attack AG Letitia James. It's right there for anyone to see. This group is not about growing stronger coalitions and lifting everyone up, they are about blowing everything up and remaking it into what they want the image to be.
