Yes, the United States is a great country but I mean....

THIS is just embarrassing. Mark Whitaker (he is actually the UN Ambassador now) had this tribute on FAUX today to the United States on its 250th birthday:

People are enjoying the United States of America because it's an awesome place. We have extraordinary things like Buc-ee's and Chick-fil-A, very convenient to eat in your car while you're having a phone call. It's an amazing country."

That's all he could think of? And what's a Buc-ee's?

that every rube in north Texas looks on with pride when one is built on their grandad's old land. It's a chain of very large convenience stores and as I understand it, have become ubiquitous in small but growing Texas rural areas adjacent to larger, urban counties.

It was in response to foreign visitors enjoying the states while here for the world cup:

BRIAN KILMEADE: Ambassador, you're over in Europe. But here in America, we have a lot of Europeans watching the world cup. What's your take as you see them really enjoying our country, maybe things we take for granted. What are your thoughts, seeing that?

MATT WHITAKER: Well, I mean, it's amazing, first of all. I have a lot of people that were late to work today because they stayed up to watch the U.S. play last night against Bosnia. That game was on in the middle of the night. Obviously, the next game's gonna be on in the middle of the night, and it's funny to see, as countries are knocked out, how that affects their attitudes. But, yeah, people are enjoying the United States of America because it's an awesome place and we have extraordinary things like Buc-ee's, like Chick- fil-A. You know, just some very convenient to eat in your car as you're having a phone call. It's an amazing country and I'm glad people are finally kind of discovering what real America is. You know being from Des Moines, Iowa, obviously, I like it when they see places outside of New York and Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles."

Handy if you’re on a road trip, but not something that needs to be exported all over the globe.

Great pit stop for a road trip, but it does not fall into the same category as inventing the iPhone.
