Donny Deutch, on Stephanie Ruhle's "Money, Power, Politics" just blasted "the Democrats" for not having a message or plan. All he hears is yes to "Socialism and Antisemitism". I don't know if he's miopically focused on NYC politics or means the whole country. If he's right, I dont know if we can be changed. The most passionate Democrats are pissed at Capitalism and Netanyahu. Heck, I am too. But the call "From the river to the sea" is what he thinks the Democrats are all about. It bums me out going into the holiday weekend. We plan to have a few pals over to watch "1776" and " Hamilton"..
Here's a recap of what I just wrote...

He has gotten a lot of facetime on MSNBC/MSNOW over the years. Never much cared for him.
His basic shtick is "Democrats suck at messaging."

(6,957 posts)I found him offensive. He was being very absolutist. He lacked nuance.
His take on Democratic Socialists was almost unhinged. A couple of Democratic Socialists winning primaries is not going to define the party.
It's a big tent party. That should be the message. And that big tent party needs to protect Democracy. The message is easy - a corrupt regime is stealing from the American people is SO many ways.

(55,785 posts)I love your selection process!!!!! I've heard "smile" ever since I lived in NYC for Parsons' summer school when I was 17. NYC and especially Union Sq. in 1979 was NOT a place to "smile". The streets were very dangerous and we students at art school that summer were required to take a class for safety in NYC. The dude who was the real life Kojak told us NOT to smile, to keep your keys in between your fingers inside your purse of pocket while walking so you can scratch a mugger's face, and to use a high heeled shoe as a device to dig into a man's shoe. I still do that!
