I remember being informed on the same morning that the kid needed cookies that very day. I started keeping cookies in the freezer just in case.

The planes used in the 1933 and 2005 King Kong movies were Curtiss F8C Helldivers, and they weren't built until ten years after the war. They flew nearly 50 mph faster than World War I planes, and instead of wood and canvas, they were mostly made of metal. You can hear the metal crunching as one of them falls from the skies after Kong swats it in the 2005 film.
