I looked at the photo on Snopes. It took me less than 5 seconds to determine that it's fake. No self-respecting nurse would have assembled the configuration of lines and tubes visible in the fake photo.

If that patient was a real person and woke up, they'd immediately strangle themselves, trying to get out of that convoluted mess. Probably believing, in their cognitively compromised state of mind, that they had been captured by a spider.

How about a link to the previous photo? If the author knows the previous photo is from March 2023, how about showing the two photos side-by-side?

I really, really wish I knew how to post pictures here because it’s impossible not to see that the figures are identical in both photos. I showed my husband without preface and he just burst out laughing. It’s sad that they think we’re without resources and super dumb.

The use of a three-year-old photo doesn’t mean Sen. McConnell has died. But it sure doesn’t prove he’s alive and conscious.

If you copy that one and today’s and post them one above the other, the similarities are too great to miss. Same smile, same expression, same posture, same clothes. There’s no doubt. People here have ruled out AI, but there are other technologies (Photoshop?) that could take out chaises, palm trees and tropical drinks and replace them with a hospital bed. That’s especially true when you consider that the equipment and expertise available to staffers and others at that level of the federal government must be top-notch.

IOW, *THAT* is the fake photo. Probably made yesterday by a prankster, AFTER Mitch's office released the one they did. It fails every AI test, whereas the one from McConnell's office fails none of them.

Supposing that McConnell's own office would be completely fabricating pictures and telling a bullshit story that would absolutely eventually be found out is a bridge further than people should readily cross, IMHO.

I would add however that all the actual, real, released photo really proves is that he's alive, and he can be posed with a grin on his face. I'm not saying it IS the case, but for all we know, there's nothing happening behind those eyes, other than the ability to understand what the word "smile" means, eventually, when being asked.

If people want to carry on believing this is all a big CT, all that is reasonably left is to question is how well his brain is still functioning. This photo doesn't prove much in that regard, but it does prove he's alive.

I have never understood the desire to fill McConnell's seat. A republican will win a special election if one is held. And if Beshear tries to appoint a Democrat, two things are certain -- it will be tied up in the courts and the Republican majority in the Senate will refuse to seat that person until the court case is resolved.

McConnell isn't able to return to Senate any time soon. This is kind of the best possible outcome we can count on right now. So what's the rush? And Beshear can't appoint anyone since it's clear McConnel isn't dead.
