Since the lawsuits the networks have avoided broadcasting direct lies that Biden lost in 2020.
It sounds like that's what Trump is planning to say tonight. I imagine the lawyers are going nuts. Do we air the speech and risk lawsuits? Do we not air the speech and risk Trump's revenge?

TV networks decline to broadcast Donaldâs speech about how he was cheated out of his second term in 2020. ð

Trump announced on Truth Social that he would be making a primetime address to the nation at 9 p.m. Thursday, but provided no details about the subject matter.
MS NOW first reported that the president is planning to speak about voting machine security and announce apparent declassified intelligence reports that the White House claims reveal plans by other countries to interfere in the 2020 election.
Major broadcast networks, including ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News, as well as cable networks such as Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, have not responded to the Daily Beasts repeated inquiries about their Thursday night programming.

Trump speech gives TV networks a tough choice
President Trump's primetime address Thursday night is forcing TV networks to choose: Air potential 2020 election falsehoods, or risk backlash from a White House that's shown little hesitation in confronting the media...
ME: There's not much info in either article as to whether or not broadcast networks will carry the speech - just supposition based off posted TV schedules, which have been known to change on the day.
I've seen headline blurbs that the speech will air via Sinclair's in-house 'The National Desk". I'm guessing that local stations owned by Sinclair might likely air Donny's ranty rant. Someone said above their PBS station will carry it. At this point mine does not have it scheduled in its listings.

President Trump's upcoming national address faces uncertainty as major TV networks, including ABC, CBS, and NBC, may not air it, according to a report.

Major broadcast networksABC, CBS, and NBCalong with cable outlets including Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC have remained silent on whether they intend to preempt regular programming to carry the speech, the Daily Beast reported Thursday morning.
As of Tuesday evening, the Thursday 9 p.m. time slot across networks continued to display "their standard scheduled content," with no indication that coverage would be interrupted for the presidential address.
Thursday night might have hit a major roadblock as it remains unclear whether any major television network will actually air him, the Daily Beast is reporting.....
According to the report, the unusual situation raises questions about White House protocol.
Typically, when presidents plan prime-time addresses on "matters of significant national importance," the administration formally requests that networks abandon their regular broadcasts. Such events are conventionally reserved for emergencies or major policy announcements warranting immediate national attention.

Networks have historically carried most such speeches on the grounds that they provide information of public importance.
The White House is considering using the speech to disclose sensitive intelligence related to China's intention or ability to interfere in the 2020 U.S. election, Reuters reported on Wednesday, which some Trump officials worry could be misleading.....
Spokespeople for the three major U.S. networks -- ABC, CBS and NBC -- did not respond to Reuters questions about whether they planned to carry the address live. CNN and Fox News (FOXA.O), opens new tab also did not respond to a request for comment

Or
Some of them have already planned to do it but aren't going to go public until the last minute.

JUST IN: NBC and ABC Will Not Air Trumpâs Primetime Address Live

Brian Stelter posted the news via a series of threaded posts on X.
In sum: Trump will not be getting the wall-to-wall airtime he wants from everyone, but the speech will be widely streamed and available, he explained.

NBC says we will provide live coverage of the presidents remarks at 9pm ET tonight on NBC News NOW. We plan to air a special report on the network following the remarks,' Stelter continued.
A spokesperson for ABC said in a statement shared with Mediaite, ABC News will run President Trumps speech on ABC News Live and ABC News Radio with comprehensive, anchored coverage. We will also cover the speech in our regular network newscasts and, as always, our Special Report team is fully prepared to break into network programming to deliver live updates and reporting should significant developments occur.

(185,015 posts)This snub makes me happy. I was happy to CNN is also snubbing this joke of a speech.
There will be nothing new in this speech. This speech is an attempt for trump to try to steal the midterms using old documents that do not prove his lies.
President Donald Trump was served a heaping helping of humiliation ahead of his primetime address Thursday night, with several major broadcast networks snubbing the planned remarks in favor of a nature documentary and game show.

"NBC and ABC will not carry Trump on their respective networks but will carry on their digital feeds, NBC News Now and ABC News Live. Expect CBS to do the same," Wall Street Journal reporter Joe Flint reported on X, hours before the speech was to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
It wasn't immediately known if CNN would also snub the address, Flint explained.....
NBC News, according to TV Insider, is scheduled to feature its series "The Americas," a nature documentary narrated by legendary actor Tom Hanks. This week's episode was set to focus on the Gulf Coast and its swamps and wetlands that are home to black bears and alligators.
The network said it planned to broadcast a special report following the address, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
ABC plans to air the Elizabeth Banks-hosted game show "Press Your Luck" during that hour, TV Insider reported.

They had the title of what was usually there but when the picture came in, it was him. Ugh.
