FCC Chairman: Any time the president delivers news or content in primetime, broadcasters should make sure public can see

Sounds like a threat.

NN: Should networks air Trump's speech?

CARR: Of course. Any time the president delivers news or content in primetime, broadcasters should make sure public can see it

N: Do they have a responsibility in terms of TV licenses?

C: Broadcasters have an obligation to operate in the public interest

That way the public interest is served by showing the speech on one broadcast tv network (god forbid anybody should have to watch C-SPAN) and by showing all the other scheduled programming that people actually want to watch. The loser network could throw in a whole lot of MAGA-friendly advertising before and after to make up for being stuck with the speech. Everybody wins!

... "Jellybean" Reagan killed the Fairness Doctrine, which required equal time be given to opposing views. Leave it to a fucking Republican to piss in the punchbowl.

does a chump speech "deliver news or content in primetime"? They are just Festivus lists of grievances, TACO threats, and worthless promises. In other words, "nothing to see [here]".

Broadcasters, please take note.

That may be true (though it doesn't seem like it). If so, then they have an obligation - in the public interest - to refuse to air dangerous LIES about our elections, even if they are from a POTUS. ESPECIALLY if they are from a POTUS.
