But I saw he was going to be on there so I tuned in. Fabulous, just fabulous over 20 minute interview. They hit on Paxton, Talirico hitting back on all the juvenile manosphere attacks. I was extremely impressed. This guys really got it man. I could see him at the Resolute Desk in 20 years, if we survive. This was the first extended interview I've seen with him. I know many, like me, pretty much despise Scareborough, but click on the link and give it a watch if you didn't see it. I'm telling you its worth it. He makes a surprise challenge to Paxton towards the end. I'm falling head over heals for this guy. Fresh new great voice....

(6,649 posts)propaganda that was unleashed upon us in the 1980s. Most known by Rush Limbaugh and the like.
Rural liberals have been living in the terrorist society that has only recently completely overtaken the nation. For us it is old routine.
When we cried for help we were ignored.
Personally, I see no way out of this. I see the nation transforming into a federation of states which have aligned with each other.
I believe that it will occur over the next 20 years, and it will be more or less voluntary.
Because there has not been a United states since this hate was all amped up and baked into generations by the radical right. And they will not give up. Or give in. Or listen to any reason. The only thing they pay attention to is money. When the States who pay in to the federal system more than they receive back start coming up with mechanisms to prevent their funds from going to fund the egregious power grab of these groups then the shift will begin.
I think about what my state could be if we no longer had to deal with all the people who were brainwashed. The people from the states who claim to want nothing from the feds, but take way more than they give.
Sorry to go off on this tangent this morning.

(886 posts)actually do get sucked up into the clouds as they believe they will. Or get sucked down into the dirt. I don't care where they go as long as they're gone.

You ask why people like Talarico have trouble getting elected? How far back do we need to go in this country?
Even now. The majority of white people still support what trump is doing on behalf of the white supremacy.

(1,086 posts)I feel that there is a groundswell of energy moving across this country/world for change. Hopefully it will culminate in a massive victory in November. I am reminded of the great battle in The Lord of the Rings, which began with unrest in the land and ended with the ending of one age and the beginning of another after the forces of evil were defeated at great cost by unlikely heroes. Ordinary people got involved and were assisted by heroic figures that intervened at just the right time to turn the tide. Perhaps we too shall be as fortunate. James Talarico is an outstanding candidate and is running against a corrupt, vile man. Perhaps the timing for change is right this time.
