Our visibilities are about 1 mile and have been as low as 3/4 of a mile.
It's one of those WOW! days.

(4,263 posts)all afternoon today. With this heat ridge and the temp inversion its forming quasi SoCal conditions circa the way I remember it in the late 60's and early 70's when I was young. That stuff was pure evil back then. You had to change your windshield wipers every 3 months and even the window trim occasionally on your car because that stuff would eat the rubber away back then. Thats exactly how my chest felt out in the yard this afternoon. I had an instant flashback lol.

(328 posts)although the visibility in Milwaukee was a bit less than half a mile.
Later in the day things out in Jefferson got worse as the smoke continued to move south.
I pulled out around 11 am and the 50 ish miles back to Milwaukee the visibility was between 3/4 of a mile and a mile.
Forecast for us in another day in the 90s and smoke. I'm hoping we get a weather front tsoon hat has a modest but steady wind to move it along.
