(18,405 posts)We should hunt this wire "reporter" down and show him some of the facts about the murdering ICE agent from his family.

(1,514 posts)The reporter was respectful to her and didn't interrupt her while she spoke. Nor did he try to debate or argue with her or ask her misleading questions. When the young woman started talking about Trump being a pedophile the reporter got her back on track concerning ICE in the area.
The young woman spoke very well and and wasn't flustered by speaking to a reporter. She knew what she wanted to say and she said it.
he seemed generally interested in what she had to say
and I do understand his point about "waiting for the facts" - but when people are literally being KILLED on the streets, that changes the dynamic - what ICE is doing is CLEARLY un-American and CRIMINAL

(330 posts)between Trump being a Pedophile and what the ICE goons are doing. She wasn't falling for the reporter's effort to separate the two crimes against innocent humanity--both perpetrated by the same man and his associates.

(60,508 posts)He was clearly trying to head off her criticism of ICE. That's not the job of a reporter. A reporter is not there to tell us what he thinks. He's there to gather facts and report them, and to interview people. And if he's going to interview someone, it isn't his job to try to mold their reaction to whatever event he's reporting on.

(3,413 posts)and while I agree that he at least was respectful towards her he wasn't really there to give unbiased coverage. All of his reporting for the Maine Wire has been criticism of the protestors.
The young woman was fantastic. I don't think the reporter expected that.
