HARPERSVILLE – The qualifying period has come and gone, meaning the candidates for the Harpersville Town Council and mayor have been set for the 2025 Municipal Election, which will take place on Aug. 26.

The qualifying period for candidates, allowing them to fill out the necessary paperwork and provide the needed materials, ended on Tuesday, June 24, allowing mayoral and Town Council hopefuls to secure their place on the ballot.

Harpersville’s mayor from 2004 until 2016, but returned to office in 2020. Perkins will not appear on the ballot. Harpersville is also guaranteed to have at least one new Councilmember with Mayor Pro Tempore Janet Gill deciding not to run for reelection to District 2, Place 3 on the Town Council after 25 years of service.
