I just watched "Watch on the Rhine" on TCM. It's a moving anti-fascist movie...

staring Betty Davis and Paul Likas. It takes place in Wash' DC before the US enters WWll and involves Lukas, Davis and their 3 dhildren comjng to DC so Likas' character, an anti--fascist German fighter, is sent to rest after being injured in a raid in Europe.

Davis' family lives in a grand home but unknowingly to them have house guests who are nazi sympathizers.

The plot builds and unfolds from there. It's well worth watching/taping on TCM if you get a chance.
