Trump's embarrassing election speech & how we should respond (INDIVISIBLE)

https://indivisible.actionkit.com/mailings/view/126283

Some men will literally hold a primetime national address ranting about an election they lost six years ago instead of going to therapy.

Trump’s meandering speech last night was sad, embarrassing (for him and the American people), and unsurprisingly offered zero evidence to support his Big Lie about the 2020 election. In fact, the mishmash of old news, non-news, and irrelevant news (irregularities in Venezuela’s elections), didn’t even add up to a single claim of actual election fraud or vote tampering in the US.

But of course we know the speech was as much about the election he expects to lose in four months as it was about the one he lost in 2020.

Since reentering office, Trump has been laying the groundwork for sabotaging the midterm elections -- and last night’s speech was intended to sow fear about foreign interference and doubt about election security as a pretext for intervention by the regime down the line.

Besides another push for his stalled voter suppression bill (his SAVE America Act, which still lacks the votes to get through the Senate), Trump didn’t get into detail about his plans. But it’s never been clearer Trump intends to interfere in the midterms and challenge the results.

It’s up to all of us to be prepared to respond. Here’s what you can do right now:

1. Sign up for Indivisible’s election protection program. “Hands Off Our Vote” is Indivisible’s biggest election protection program ever. We’re organizing in all 50 states to make sure every eligible voter is able to cast their ballot and that every vote is counted. We’ll be ready to respond to any dirty tricks by this regime -- in numbers Trump can’t even imagine.

2. Start your election protection training with our kickoff call on July 30. Don’t wait until November to get into election protection formation -- learn the strategy and find out how you can tap in regardless of where you live on our first training call (Thursday, July 30 at 8pm ET/5pm PT).

3. Chip in to help us protect the midterms. Organizing to protect the vote in all 50 states is a massive undertaking, and we estimate a minimum cost of $6 million, not including staff time. If you’re in a position to donate, we could really use the support.

Last night, Trump went on a pathetic rant intended to undermine trust in democratic elections. How great would it be if tens of thousands of Americans responded by signing up to protect them?

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
