Tax ballot proposals largely passing in Juneau, Kenai Peninsula Borough unofficial election results

Three propositions in Juneau and two in the Kenai Peninsula Borough concerned taxes. Two are currently being voted down.

In Juneau, Proposition 1 would amend the property tax mill rate cap from 12 mills to 9 mills. Unofficial results as of Wednesday afternoon show 3,104 voted yes (51.53%), while 2,920 voted no (48.47%).......

The Kenai Peninsula Borough had two initiatives on the ballot over elections, covering its operation and the date they happen. Only one, currently, is making it through.

Proposition one would eliminate electronic tabulators at borough election precincts. All ballots would be hand-counted in person. This proposition currently has more no votes, with 3,780 (52.57%) to 3,410 (47.43%).
