Waltz's team set up at least 20 Signal group chats for crises across the world

National security adviser Mike Waltz’s team regularly set up chats on Signal to coordinate official work on issues including Ukraine, China, Gaza, Middle East policy, Africa and Europe, according to four people who have been personally added to Signal chats.

Two of the people said they were in or have direct knowledge of at least 20 such chats. All four said they saw instances of sensitive information being discussed.

It’s a more extensive use of the app than previously reported and sheds new light on how commonly the Trump administration’s national security team relies on Signal, a publicly available messaging app, to conduct its work.

“It was commonplace to stand up chats on any given national security topic,” said one of the people involved in the chats, adding that the groups often included Cabinet members and high-level staff. All four of the people were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the private chats.

First, notice that the president is there. He's not off golfing, ignorant of what's happening. He's right there, directing.

Also notice they are all together in a secure room in the White House, with no electronics that can be hacked or stolen.
They are talking to each other, not texting.

This is the way a real government works.

I miss it.

and most times, I can use my mouse to RIGHT-CLICK on the image, which will open a drop-down menu, and I can select "Copy Image Link", and then past that into a post.

HOWEVER there are some images that are on webpages that have weird links that don't have a "graphic file extension" at the end - e.g., ".jpg" or ".gif" or ".png", etc. So those won't work on DU. Sometimes I can hunt around and find the same image on another site that does have the extensions and will use that version. Other times if I really want the image, I will do a screenshot and then upload it to a graphic/video hosting site like Imgur, and then will link that in a post.

I will often try to open the image in a tab by itself and do what you mention - copy THAT link (but would still have to RIGHT-CLICK to get the image link and then I can paste it in a tab/window). That is when I can really confirm if it has a graphic file extension and is even viewable (and not in some kind of webpage "frame" ).

Good luck!
