House Democrat: People from 'all sides' are 'livid at Trump's handling of the economy'

Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.) said on Sunday that people from “all sides” of the political spectrum are “livid” at President Trump’s “handling of the economy.”

“I think that … the Arizonans I’ve talked to, I’m seeing people from all sides of the political spectrum absolutely livid at Trump’s handling of the economy, the tariff issue is big in Arizona,” Ansari told NewsNation’s Chris Stirewalt on “The Hill Sunday.”

“When he’s going after trading partners like Mexico, and Canada, it really affects us and so you have people from all across the political spectrum highly concerned,” she added. Trump’s recent tariff policy has rattled markets, increased economic anxiety throughout the United States and the world and strained relationships with allies like Canada and the European Union.

Following Trump’s unveiling of sweeping tariffs earlier this month, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told fellow Europeans she knew “that many of you feel let down by our oldest ally.” “Let’s be clear-eyed about the immense consequences. The global economy will massively suffer,” she said at the time.
