As an aside, it was his (relatively) recent LP, No Pier Pressure that pulled him up into my Top 10 (now a Top 9).

Musicians dropping like flies the last decade. All of The Band, John Prine, so many others. As a nearly 70 year old, it is inevitable to have so many music heroes leaving the world

There is a whole generation in that age group who were they trend and style-setters. The Beach Boys definitely patented a "sound" that was all their own (with all those who tried to copy it).

They were supposed to do a benefit concert here in Montreal in a couple of weeks.

He was very talented and a bit of a tortured soul. RIP, Brian Wilson. Sing with the angels.

I'd just started HS when they came on the scene. They were everything. Fun, fun, fun !

because that music, which is timeless, was the soundtrack of the baby boomers' youth including mine. Brian had so many tragedies; the poor man couldn't catch a break. He was a survivor, and I am sure every day he asked himself how he ended up outliving his brothers and making it to old age.

Brian Wilson will never be forgotten.
