Despite grand claims, a new report shows noncitizen voting hasn't materialized

After President Trump and many other Republicans warned that vast numbers of non-U.S. citizens would influence last year's election, states and law enforcement have devoted more resources than ever before to root out those ineligible voters.

More than six months into Trump's second term, they haven't found much.

New research out Wednesday tracking state government efforts across the country confirms what election experts have said all along: Noncitizen voting occasionally happens but in minuscule numbers, and not in any coordinated way.

"Noncitizens are not a large threat to our election system currently," said David Becker, the executive director of the Center for Election Innovation & Research (CEIR), which conducted the research. "Even states that are looking everywhere to try to amplify the numbers of noncitizens … when they actually look, they find a surprisingly, shockingly small number."

It's not "shocking". It's the reality that continues to underscore that the GOP has manufactured a talking point that is pure fiction, just like all the rest of the "election fraud" crap that they spew.

1. What was important was the lie.

That it be repeated, that the story entered the consciousness of "Independent" voters who put Krasnov back in the White House.

The small number isn't "shocking", except to gullible fools.

It isn't a lie that fooled anyone to do anything. It is coded racism that justifies doing any thing. In fact, I would argue that if anyone genuinely believed the lie they were fertile territory to begin with because of preexisting biases if not out right racism.

But they'll stir the pot with the lie again in November 2026. The magapub rubes fall for their schtick every time.

They are almost the opposite of every word they say. Every accusation is a confession.

4. Other forms of voter fraud are much more prevalent.

Like voting more than once, or filling out an absentee ballot for someone other than yourself, or purposely discarding, or mishandling mailed in votes.
The real heavy duty fraud stuff is done at the government level in terms of voter suppression, and gerrymandering districts for one parties advantage.
In actuality, non-citizen voting is just about non-existent.

Data and facts don't persuade conservatives to change their minds. In fact, it actually makes them double down on their fantasies.

about foreigners are voting in our elections or at least trying to vote in our elections. You can
not vote unless you’re a registered voter and you can only register to vote if you are a U.S. citizen.

9. How dumb would a non-citizen have to be to risk prison and deportation to cast a vote?

About as dumb as the people who think the non-citizens are that dumb.
