Ford is projecting a $2 billion bill because of the Trump administration's tariffs.
That's $500 million higher than what it forecast last quarter.
Ford's CEO said Trump's reduced tariffs on Japan would give its automakers a "meaningful" advantage.
Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, said on Wednesday that the Trump administration's tariff policy would saddle the automaker with a $2 billion bill while benefiting its Japanese rivals.

I am glad to see Trump NAME in the headline regarding tariffs!!
Also--we know that this means higher prices for all who buy their cars --or their products.

Toyota purposely moved the Tundra pickups to Texas, because thats where they could sell the most trucks. Haggerty had a film by one of their Correspondence Larry Chen in the plant. A Toyota Truck rolls off the line every 67 seconds. .
They built 230000 there last year, The sister Toyota plant is in Mexico.

(2,821 posts)They sent manufacturing and jobs overseas for years and have actively sought to diminish union power. They lobbied for favorable tax breaks to make this happen. Now politics are swinging in the other direction. Their pain is largely of their own making.
