BREAKING: USGS Confirms 3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Northern New Jersey

Source: RLS Media

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed that a magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck near Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, around 10:22 p.m. this evening.

Residents across North Jersey and as far south as Trenton reported feeling the tremor, with many in Harrison taking to social media to share their surprise over the shaking.

Residents in upstate New York as far away as Westchester and Rockland also felt tremors.

While no damage or injuries have been reported, the quake served as a startling reminder that earthquakes, though rare in New Jersey, can still be felt across a wide area.

Hopefully. We in the NYC tri-State area are not used to even little tremors. It's a bit yikey for us! electric_blue68 Aug 3 #8

Who runs the damn USGS anyway? Trump wanted it reported as a 8.5 or better. JustABozoOnThisBus Aug 3 #7

The neighbors behind me had a pool party going with hundreds of people. The music was so loud; the bass was actually making my house shake. I called the police.

As soon as the police shut them up, the earthquake happened!

Crazy.

California hasn't had a major earthquake for years, yes their are tremors every day, little ones that are barely felt, but still every day there tiny little earthquakes happening, but have as yet not had a major earthquake in the bay area for a while now. I don't know if that is worrysome or not, but perhaps the mini earthquakes left off energy in little chunks at a time.

We need to fire that person and hire someone who will give us more favorable Richter numbers!
