NEW MEXICO (KRQE) Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham appeared on national news Sunday to discuss the importance of Medicare and Medicaid for New Mexicans. Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz says applications for a new rural hospital fund will open in early September.
The $50 billion fund comes after Medicaid cuts in President Trumps Big Beautiful Bill passed last month to boost border and defense spending. Some GOP senators pushed for the fund to offset the impact on rural hospitals.
Concerns rise over impact of Big, Beautiful Bill on New Mexico healthcare, Medicaid
Governor Lujan Grisham told CBSs Face the Nation that the US should focus on connecting people to healthcare and that the fund is not enough. When Face the Nations Margaret Brennan asked whether the governor had figured out how to implement everything Dr. Oz has laid out, she responded, Absolutely not. There is no real way to implement this. Its more paperwork for everyone.
Its more paperwork for federal government, for state governments, for county governments, for local hospitals, for independent providers. And you know what Americans really hate, Margaret? When you go to your primary care physician and you spend 20 minutes sitting at a chair, not even on the exam table, while they are inputting data into a computer. So this doesnt make any sense.

The "national" M$M wouldn't describe her appearance and focused on the snake oil salesman instead.
