Knewz.com is reporting that tensions between Cambodia and Thailand have escalated after renewed fighting along their disputed border claimed the life of a Thai soldier, reportedly due to a landmine. The incident has heightened regional concerns, drawing international attention to a decades-long territorial dispute.
In response to the escalating conflict, President Donald Trump successfully called for an immediate ceasefire, a move that prompted Cambodia to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize, marking his third nomination.
Trump wrote, They have agreed to immediately meet and quickly work out a Ceasefire and, ultimately, PEACE! It was an Honor to deal with both Countries. They have a long and storied History and Culture. They will hopefully get along for many years to come.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported on the U.S.-mediated peace progress, with Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia Sun Chanthol praising Trump. Cambodias nomination adds to Trumps prior Nobel Peace Prize considerations from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Pakistan.

He wants another gold ge-gaw to decorate the Oval Office. It will end up next to the golfing trophies.
He'll use his Nobel laureate status as another reason to justify telling (forcing?) other countries to bend to his will and kiss the ring -- or "kissing my ass," as he has described it

(13,263 posts)I'd never come across that website before, but since there's been such a push by TACO and his acolytes to give him the prize, I thought this deserved a mention.
Who can nominate:
Members of national governments and parliaments;
University professors in law, history, philosophy, theology, and social sciences;
Judges from international courts;
Past Nobel Peace Prize laureates;
Directors of peace research institutes;
Members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Self-nominations or public petitions dont count.

(71 posts)It's a Nomination, not a Nobel Peace Prize. It's meaningless. It's even less than getting a Golden Globe Nomination but not winning the Award. Geez

(916 posts)Deadline has passed.
Deadline for nominations for current year is January 31st.
Trump is transactional.
He thinks if he does A, he should get B.
In some places, the world does not work that way.
Here are the questions our press do not ask:
Why do you think you deserve Nobel Peace Price?
You have cancelled cancer funding.
You have set cancer cures back years with cancelling funding of mRNA vaccines.
You withdrew from the World Health Organization.
You withdrew critical medical funding of other countries by shutting down USAID.
You are investigating Nobel laureates, like President Obama.
You are investigating your political enemies.
You are deporting people out of your country without due process.
There are other questions to ask.
