At least 600 CDC employees are getting final termination notices, union says

NEW YORK (AP) — At least 600 employees of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are receiving permanent termination notices in the wake of a recent court decision that protected some CDC employees from layoffs but not others.

The notices went out this week and many people have not yet received them, according to the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents more than 2,000 dues-paying members at CDC.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday did not offer details on the layoffs and referred an AP reporter to a March statement that said restructuring and downsizing were intended to make health agencies more responsive and efficient.

AFGE officials said they are aware of at least 600 CDC employees being cut. But “due to a staggering lack of transparency from HHS,” the union hasn’t received formal notices of who is being laid off,” the federation said in a statement on Wednesday.

He expects to choke it off with religion in schools. That will fail too.

Chopping off the careers of our most productive scientists is a shortsighted policy. Kneecaps the economy and health care in the short and long run.

Trumpism seems to think it's 1925. Is this whole mess as simple as narcissism?

The world exists as I experienced it in MY life, and cannot be allowed to change, so we'll move the clock backward to what it was when I was young? Narcissistic power grab?

That's the simplicity I'm pondering this morning.

we as a nation are being terrorized on a daily basis by a government who's suppose to keep us safe, secure, with protections, i.e healthcare, job securities, retirements, et al.

Economy is failing while the rich gets richer. Inflation is getting worst, tariffs suck, cost of living for the middle class and poor is getting worse and worse.

The minority hateful violent party want total evil control and they hate democracy.

GQP is pure evil.

I suspect this trump 2.0 thinks its fix is in for the midterms. Why else would they continue to do exactly what lowers trump's poll numbers?
