U.S. CBP reviewing apparent road rage incident between officer and Canadian tourist in WNY

Source: WKBW-TV Buffalo, NY

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says it is reviewing an incident involving what appears to be a CBP officer and a Canadian tourist in Western New York.

The incident was caught on camera by the tourist and posted online. In the video, the officer can be heard telling the people in the vehicle from Ontario to "Never come to the U.S. again." The video then shows the officer closely following the vehicle from Ontario.

The video includes a map that claims this incident took place the morning of September 22 on Interstate 190 near exit 24, just miles from the border. You can watch the video directly below.

7 News asked U.S. Customs and Border Protection about the video.

That would be my guess.

The cop was right to yell at him.

I had a guy lean out the window on a right turn because I blocked his turn while I legally had to wait for a school bus to pickup passengers.

"Get the f--- out of the way!" he screamed.

7 News asked U.S. Customs and Border Protection about the video. We received the following response from Mike Niezgoda, a spokesperson with the agency:

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission. CBP employees, officers and agents perform their duties with honor and distinction, working tirelessly every day to keep our country safe. CBP is committed to ensuring that all employees are held to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and personal conduct."

That does nothing to explain the video! It's a fugging mission statement.

...but as a private citizen, I probably would have had some choice words (not related to them being from Canada) about them parking in the left lane.

They've started actually enforcing that in Virginia, which is a nice change.

They need to enforce it in MD too! As many trips as I have made back and forth from Philly to the D.C. metro area, I have found that MD drivers LIVE in the left lane!

(but then at least they aren't like NJ drivers who think the lane divider lines are for their car's imaginary nose wheel, which they must center on the line )

(and this includes trucks), and they are not expecting to use an exit/turn lane or highway split that includes the left lane(s) (a number of interstates and state highways do have left exits or "express" vs "local" lanes), then they should stay to the right.

On two lane roads (like the NYS Thruway), you are supposed to stay to the right, except to pass. When I was an inexperienced driver back in the 70’s, on the NYS thruway, I was staying in the left lane because I didn’t know any better. I was pulled over and warned about it.

This dickhead in WNY was behaving like a nasty MAGA. He shouldn’t be a cop if he can’t contain his emotions better.

They will applaud him as he returns to his barracks at the end of his shift.

Rural LEO are very MAGA. That’s why I’m increasingly fearful living in affordable rural NY. We can’t afford to go to a blue area. But, we keep a low profile and HOPE that when the time comes, we won’t be herded into a Gilead work camp. And we are within an hour of the Canadian border. But light years away in reality.

I advise my son who has a better job than I could've ever hoped for to keep his politics to himself. He's surrounded by MAGA in a government contractor company. Some Dems there but with MAGA, better try to separate that when at work. Cheers

Cop yelling at idiot driver who is creating a dangerous situation by making cars pass him on the right, and refusing to move over. Apparently, left lane campers are a trait of Ontario drivers.

And it’s unprofessional.

That LEO could have just as easily caused an accident by being a dickhead. If he felt it necessary, he should have simply pulled him over and explained that he can’t drive in the left lane like that.

LEO who lose their cool like that are as bad as bad drivers.
