UAW preparing VW members with 'strike training' meetings

After Volkswagen Chattanooga presented the United Auto Workers Local 42 members with its "best, final offer" earlier this year, the union is holding strike training meetings beginning Tuesday morning.

The turn comes after nearly a year of unproductive bargaining.

The UAW explains that the strike training meetings doesn't mean that the workers are going on strike or stepping away from negotiations yet.

"We are serious about winning a better life for ourselves and our families," said Chuck Browning, lead bargainer for the union, in a video posted online. "It doesn’t mean we’re going on strike, it doesn’t mean we’re walking away from negotiations. It means we’re sticking together until we get what we deserve.”
