Every time a talking head begins an interview sentence with something like "Speaker Mike Johnson said..." it should be cut off with "it's a lie. He lies. He said trump has the best polling numbers. He's a republican. He lies."

Every Dem had better learn the facts on this issue and be ready to come out blazing whenever confronted with these lies.

That old saying - "A lie can travel around the world before the truth has time to put its' pants on" certainly applies here.

We continually have an uphill battle fighting the constant stream of MAGAT lies, but I'm thrilled to see Sen. Warren calling them out.

Maybe they go home and "do more research" on 4chan or something, I don't know.
For the most part they parrot Chump because they can't think for themselves.

(Dems are genetically programmed to get into too much detail. It is better to just stick with the simplest facts.)

1. It has never been legal for an undocumented person to get benefits from Medicare or Medicaid. Never. Nothing has changed about that for decades.

2. It has been legal for many years for people here on a legal status to receive some of these benefits. The only thing that has changed is that during the pandemic, Biden extended the visas of certain classes of people here LEGALLY. And that is a rounding error on the budget -- totally insignificant n the big picture.

3. Most states have laws requiring hospitals to provide emergency care the ANYONE with a lift-threatening condition. Lots of MAGA people do that -- showing up to the ER with no means to pay for their care. An undocumented person must be treated enough to stabilize them. That's the law -- has been for decades. This can be very costly to hospitals, obviously. Since the Reagan administration, hospitals can receive Federal reimbursements for a fraction of those costs. This is for ANYONE who cannot pay. It has nothing to do with immigration status. This Republican bill slashes those reimbursement rates, which will force many rural hospitals to close. Democrats are fighting to save these rural hospitals.

4. The GOP budget slashes the funding for ACA insurance, so some ACA premiums will skyrocket in a few weeks. Democrats are fighting to keep the ACA premium assistance in place.

Bottom line, the Republican slash-and-burn plan doesn't help anybody. It will close many hospitals (mostly in Red, rural areas) and it will make health insurance impossible for 10-20 million people. So they will just end up in the ER, unable to pay, AND the the Republicans are slashing the reimbursement rates those hospitals depend on. This is just mindless "DOGEy" stuff. It is terrible policy.

During the Reagan administration it was ruled that anyone who went to an emergence room had to be given care whether they had health insurance or not. Whether they were in America legally was never ever mentioned. Republicans are now making it an issue and blaming it on Democrats and never mentioning the rule from the Reagan administration.

And Republicans have been making noises about ending it for years. It is mentioned in one of the cases before the supremacist court next year.

Personally, I’m for every one of those benefits, but Warren should be truthful because that just muddies the water further.
