Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts announced staff reassignments on Friday in the wake of the conservative uproar over his statement defending Tucker Carlson for interviewing white nationalist Nick Fuentes. Roberts tapped the think tanks executive vice president Derrick Morgan to serve as acting chief of staff until the end of the year. Ryan Neuhaus, who was serving in the role, was moved to be a senior adviser.
He made the announcement in an email to staff late Friday with the subject line: Heritages Stand Against Antisemitism and for Civilizational Truth. The email, obtained by The Hill, opened by saying the thank tank had launched and expanded numerous explicit efforts to combat antisemitism under his leadership.
Our position on Israel is principled and balanced: theres a great deal of space between believing Israel can do no wrong and blaming it for every wrong, the Heritage chief wrote. Roberts went on to say that the organization is also standing firm against cancel culture, but that rejecting cancel culture does not mean tolerating evil.
He added, At Heritage, we understand the moment we are in. This is a time for moral courage and conviction. We will continue to leadnot by silencing dissent, but by confronting and defeating bad ideas with Truth. The think tank president said the changes were made to ensure we meet this moment with focus and excellence.

Keep calling them out as what they are - racists, antisemites, sexists, homophobes, transphobes, xenophobes, and anti-anything not a faux-Christian white male. They. Will. Recoil.

The Jewish Power quote is one of Fuentes milder remarks. Fuentes is open about his love of Hitler. He has called Hitler cool and awesome, describing himself as just like Hitler. He gives the Sieg Heil salute. He has commented They compare Putin to Hitler like its a bad thing. Polish people have the bad habit of hating Hitler all the time, he says. Asked directly whether Hitler was bad, Fuentes refused to respond directly, saying that if Hitler was bad, Churchill and Roosevelt are also bad. (Some of the most popular YouTube comments: I love Nicks response. Not letting others manipulate his thoughts and words. Dude has guts. People act like Hitler opposed that group for no reason whatsoever. Nick makes such a good point. There's no other historical world leader they would ask this question about.)
By now society should be savvy to this bullshit where this jokey thin-end-of-the-wedge stuff is used to degrade discourse more and more.
And as some lefties have started pointing out lately to my relief, speech policing is itself a dicey thing when genuinely harmless jokes are used to ignite that tiresome IDW cancel culture crap. That stuff on the one hand and on the other normalizing Fuentes and his ilk-the two are connected.
That lack of discrimination online itself fuels the Fuentes types. To paraphrase Jon Stewart Hitler worked very hard to be that evil and shouldnt be compared to some jerk you argue with online.
