'They may be arrested': ICE makes startling admission on election monitoring operation

Source: Raw Story

November 2, 2025 12:08PM ET

With millions of voters expected to descend to the polls Tuesday in a series of off-year elections, including in California where voters will vote on a constitutional amendment to redraw the state’s congressional districts, the Trump administration made a startling admission regarding how its poll monitors may operate on Election Day.

The Trump administration has deployed Justice Department officials to monitor elections in both California and New Jersey, citing allegations of election “irregularities” from Republican leadership in both states, a move that critics have labeled as blatant “voter intimidation.” The New York Times reported Sunday that officials with Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that while the agency would not target polling sites with immigration raids, there was one important caveat.

“If a dangerous criminal alien is near a polling location, they may be arrested as a result of that targeted enforcement action,” the statement read, as reported by the Times. The DOJ plans to have staff from its Civil Rights Division stationed at polling sites – many of them in areas with significant Hispanic populations – purportedly to ensure compliance with federal voting laws. Officials in both states, however, have pushed back.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that the state would be deploying its observers to “monitor the monitors,” the Times reported, and New Jersey’s attorney general, Matt Platkin, called the deployment of federal monitors “highly inappropriate,” and also pledged to deploy its own observers to monitor for potential voter intimidation.

then the local or state police need to remove them and if they refuse, then they need to be arrested for obstruction and hauled off to jail.

No more fucking around with these Nazi's.

State matter, Donnie. You have no power here. Not with respect to elections or the arrest and prosecution of those who are deemed to have interfered with said elections through intimidation or any other means.

Time for the Blue states to get tough. Shithead is going to cut our federal funding anyway, so what the hell. Let's just cut to the damn chase.

"monitored". I'm expecting a visit from the DOJ as our town's demographic is 70% Latino/Hispanic/Mexican/Muslim.

I'll report back to you after I'm done, after 8:30 on Tuesday.

dont know if nj law is different from il, but i’ve been a judge here. they drilled it into us that we own the polling place and can kick anyone but someone actively voting, and certified poll watchers the hell out. no fucking shenanigans, period.
i’m in chgo. they dont station cops, but the beat cops keep an eye, and treat any call from a polling place as top priority.
i’ve never had to call, but i’ve tossed a few assholes.

That federal Border Patrol and/or. Other federal agents will be physically AT polling sites, using handheld cellphone cameras to ID people THEY let in to come vote.

And they expect to tag some who may be a troublemaker, no?

Who here doubts they will be checking the ID facial recognition of EVERY person?

THEY will cause problems at polling places. THEY have plans to cause an insurrection. Be ready for anything. Go with friends with phones and cameras. Know what you should do if friends or yourself are attacked.

Since the Supreme Court said racial profiling is legal now, but only for this one minority. Sure, they'll have to let everyone go because every single person arrested will turn out to be an American citizen after all, but only after they interrogate them for hours until after the polls close, and oh well, I guess they missed their chance to vote.

... but then ... we already knew that, didn't we?

It seems that ICE no longer cares about catching illegal immigrants.

They just want harass anybody - ANYBODY - that isn't a middle-class white male.
Fuck them. No seriously: Fuck ICE, Dept. of Homeland Security and Dept. of Justice.
This is not law enforcement, it is harassment of citizens who are exercising their legal right to vote.

But I believe the gop stopped putting money into ads because they were told by cheaters like Elon, etc, "It WILL lose—we'll make sure of it."
Now we're seeing they are going to put storm troopers at the polling places.

Yep, their plan is to smash the proposition.
