US consumer sentiment fell in November to one of the lowest levels on record as Americans' views of their personal finances soured.

The final November sentiment index dropped to 51 from 53.6 in October, according to the University of Michigan. The figure was only slightly better than the preliminary figure.

The current conditions gauge slid 7.5 points to a record low of 51.1. Views of personal finances were the dimmest since 2009.

"Consumers remain frustrated about the persistence of high prices and weakening incomes," Joanne Hsu, director of the survey, said in a statement.

3. Donald Trump: 'I Don't Want To Hear About the Affordability'

President Donald Trump appeared to dismiss concerns about the cost of living for Americans, calling such criticism a "con" by Democrats and touting his record on inflation.

Trump specifically cited what he said was the lower overall cost of Thanksgiving when compared with the tenure of his White House predecessor, Joe Biden.

"So I don't want to hear about the affordability, because right now we're much less," Trump told reporters on Thursday in the White House East Room.

I just don't see any of this mattering. People are enthralled with him. Slavishly loyal.
Nothing this administration does will matter in the end because over half the country is either loyal to the bitter end or so disconnected from current events they have no idea what is going on and just doesn't vote because "I just don't like politics, they are all the same".
The US is a failed state and irrevocably broken.

11. Habit

I've lost the habit of shopping over the last year. I mean, for example, where I use to check my saved Amazon cart for price drops almost daily... I just don't buy the stuff anymore, and don't bother staying tuned for deals or price drops. Cat laser pointers, movies, crap for my laptop or iphone... heck, even certain special/fun snacks and such... all gone from my menu. Too much other stuff costs too much to waste money on anything, and the stuff I do buy to replace used up things is generally crap anymore, so I always ask... do I really even need to replace this at all? We have 2 fewer TV's now, and no interest in replacing them. They broke the middle class... Good luck running the economy selling only iPhone Pros, $1.2million homes, and Rivian SUV's.

You may be doing OK, but there are rumors of layoffs, of corporate takeover, of being replaced by automation or AI.

You lose your job, you lose your income, your healthcare, your security. Maybe much more.

Democratic Congressional pols keep talking about the devastation the GOP has caused. The billionaires have declared war on all classes below the top ten percent. Half the Country is falling through the floor. NVIDa, Tim Cook and Musk and Bezos and zuck could give a rat’s behind about our Country. Trump has turned the American dream into a nightmare.
