Trump administration will re-examine green card holders from 19 countries

The head of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Joseph Edlow, said the president had directed him to conduct "a full scale, rigorous re-examination of every green card for every alien from every country of concern".
When asked by the BBC which countries were on the list, the agency pointed to a June proclamation by the White House, external that included Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, Iran, Somalia and Venezuela.

(39,688 posts)They've already laid off a lot of personnel at the Immigration Service, so how will they have the manpower to do this kind of review anyway? Meanwhile these immigrants and legal green card holders are living in fear that something dire will happen, and they're powerless to stop it.
Once a green card is legally issued, what are the chances that it might be revoked later? Maybe this is just more sabre-rattling that won't amount to much....

(105,293 posts)And they'll carry on doing that until a court tells them to stop. There may not be any organization to what they revoke - just a vague use of it to hurt the people they hate. And I expect they'll use unqualified personnel to do it, because they don't actually care if it's done "fairly" or "lawfully".
