TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Investigators in Arizona want residents near Nancy Guthrie ‘s home to share surveillance camera footage of suspicious cars or people they may have noticed in the month before she disappeared.

The alert went across a 2-mile (3.2 kilometer) radius in neighborhoods close to where the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie went missing 12 days ago, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

It asked for video of “anything neighbors deem out of the ordinary or important to our investigation” since the beginning of January.

Federal and local officers have been going door-to-door in Tucson neighborhoods around 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie’s house while also looking for clues around her other daughter’s nearby home, which she had visited just hours before disappearing.

These are all things that should have happened in the first 48 hours.

but apparently the houses are so far apart that neighbors' cameras may not have recorded anything useful.

The media, lacking anything new to report, keep hashing the same stuff over and over.

I think the investigators would have better luck analyzing those gloves for partial prints, bits of hair or animal fur, or skin cells. I hope the investigators are professional enough to have gone through every inch of the house and yard looking for similar clues. Did they find tire tracks anywhere? Do those gloves have residue from the plants the kidnapper used to try to block the security camera? Are there dirt particles on the floor that aren't from local soil? ,

I think I watch and read too many murder mysteries.

give this story the first 10-15 minutes of its newscast for a week? Is this Entertainment Tonight? I feel for the family, but is this the most important story in the country with Trump trying to tear the nation apart?

It's a story that people would care about even if Savannah Guthrie wasn't involved. An elderly woman gets kidnapped. That's gonna be a heart tugger no matter who it is or who she's related to.

believe that the suspect approached on foot from the hillside.

So now they're going to try to identify some suspicious patterns in the neighborhood previously.

When compared to dumbass use of a car like that we saw in Moscow, Idaho (i.e., Brian Kohberger), this appears to have been at least somewhat more sophisticated.

Nancy Guthrie could not have walked very far with him once kidnapped. She was reported as frail, unable to walk more than a hundred yard.
So either she was killed and hidden on the property (which is why they searched the septic tanks) or she was taken to a vehicle.

The question is how close it was to the property.

At 2am, I think they would have a car identified if it was driving through the neighborhood. The fact that they don't, and that they're having goofy fumbles like SWATing the Doordash guy, suggest that the kidnapper(s) did not make their vehicle obvious in the neighborhood.

Night of, anyway.

of the Jon Beney Ramsey investigation that was incredibly fumbled from the start, by the poorly qualified P.D. and then continued for some time..........
