When the bombing started, they were hoping to get rid of their hated government. Instead, the Ayatollah's son has replaced his father, and they see him as even more of a hard liner. When the US started bombing schools, sports facilities, apartment buildings, and ancient sites of historical significance, Iranians turned against the US. Many now support whatever their government does to hurt the US. Obviously, this is one friend's analysis from talking to a few people in Iran, one of whom helped pull dozens of bodies from a bombed apartment building, but killing civilians and schoolchildren seems to have been a turning point.

Trump and Hegseth have accomplished almost nothing while wasting billions of dollars on a war they don't know how to end. But Trump got some of what Putin wanted--a way to cancel sanctions on Russian oil to help give Putin the money he needs to continue his illegal war against Ukraine.

Most of the losses in these special elections and primaries so far are due to extremely low Republican voter turnout which is largely due to dissatisfaction with the way Trump is handling his second term. Only the truly horrible pieces of $h!t still support him. He's trying to put on an act to energize his base. He thinks that they are that stupid.

So, the validity of his statements is not as important to him as how he thinks him acting that way and saying his BS makes him look.

He claims their new leadership is moderate and reasonable. They are negotiating in good faith. We are close to a deal. But he also says we are going to hit them very hard over the next 2-3 weeks and "send them back to the stone age." But after sending them back to the stone age, even though we have supposedly already completely destroyed their military, we still won't open the Strait of Hormuz. Our allies will have to do that. Oh and gas is north of $4 per gallon here even though we are totally energy independent and the Strait being closed has no effect on us.

They have just given a master class in asymmetric warfare. The Pentagon is undoubtedly going back to grab another $200B to build more of the same systems that are no match for the asymmetric warfare. Despite their historical differences, all the Middle East countries are delighted to see the US humiliated and weakened.

And Iran is replacing a very old regime with a new generation of leaders, and they have every reason to be just as committed to America's downfall as their predecessors, but they are a generation wiser on technology and a generation more energetic. Yes, many Iranian lives were lost, but a whole bunch of people in the ruling chain get promotions now.

In the process, there is a new doctrine regarding Hormuz. Iran is now the active gatekeeper, making them more powerful than before. They will have plenty of resources to develop their nuclear weapons and they will never trust the West with any agreements again.

So tell me how Americans are better off today than we were 2 months ago.
